long term residence (10yrs) , any policy changes expected ??

Post by vitalik » Mon Jan 08, 2007 4:39 pm

i ve heard that Home Office (IND) intends to make some radical changes in the immigration policy.

do u know if they intend changing the long residence rule (10yrs) ??

i heard they will also make harder for students to apply in the long residency category? is it true.

any information would help.
thank u very much.

I think if they change the 10 year rule they would also have to change the 14 year concession, It would dissapoint a lot of people if they did as people wanting to apply in these categories would have been waiting for a very long time! I wonder what is the percentage of ILR given in these categories compared to other immigration routes and wether its worth changing the long residence routes....
