Tier 2 General Visa Extension

Post by s0787671 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:49 am

Dear Members,

I have gained a lot of knowledge from this forum and would like to thank all for your input and support.

Now after 3 years of being on Tier 2 general, its time for extension.

My Tier 2 Visa expires 21 Oct 2012.

I have found the application forms, but now there are both paper and online form, I dont which is the best one to go for?

Secondly,

Does my sponsor issue a Certificate of sponsorship with

Start date: say 10 sep 2012

End date: 20 Oct 2014 (because my current expiry is 20 oct 2012, 2y from that date)

I am not sure whether the sponsor can only sponsor me for next 2 years and the dates have to be exactly 2 years from the time of issue of COS.

Please clarify this doubt of mine.

I am planning on applying by the end of this week.

Thank you
Bharat

Hi have noticed online application is faster then the paper application, provided u have send the documents on time. My visa is expiring in mid nov 2012 and i have made my tier 2 extension application about 2 weeks ago, i have recieved the biometrics letter within a week of submitting the documents. so i think its fast

Nowadays tier 2 extension are granted for 3 years unless specified less by the COS , so put 3 years in your COS.

Query

Post by s0787671 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:23 am

So you are saying that I can ask my employers to put in 3y on the tier 2 extension COS.

By the way,

We can apply for PR after 2 y cant we?As we are still on the old scheme.

Also how do employer declare that its an extension on the COS, is there an option which they tick on the COS form?

Its better to have 3 years extension so we can have more flexibility when applying for ILR.

In COS the place where it mentions whether the resident labour test is required or not? put yes in there and then mention in the box provided that resident labour market test is not required as the applicat is applying for his extension.

The documents i have send with my application

(1) passport
(2) photos
(3) employer letter
(4) last 3 months payslip

for my dependent
(1) marriage certificate
(2) council tax letter
(3) bank statement in our joint name and also to prove maintanence

although all this documents were not required
the only document required for the main applicant is the passport and photos and for the dependent is the maintanence proof

maintanence

We don't need to show maintanence even for dependant if the main applicant is on tier 2 and he is extending his visa only maintanence should be shown for the depandant if the main applicant need to show proof of maintanence otherwise not needed for extension applications

Tier 2 dependent application requirement?

Post by s0787671 » Mon Sep 03, 2012 7:45 pm

My wife is on PSW and she will be moving to tier 2 dependant, as soon as I get my tier2 extended.

But since she is doing a visa change, I was told by UKBA, that she would have to do it in from India.

So If she id doing it from India:

I believe, she has to show 600-800 maintainance funds in her account or my account.

Could some one clarify what documents are required for a tier 2 dependant application, if the applicant is moving from psw to tier 2 dependant.

Thank you
Bharat

Regards
Varma.

I will let you David, as soon as I get mine.

By the way, does the employer pay for the Visa or do we do it. I was told off

this time, that I have to pay for it, where as the last time the company did

pay for it.

Its normally the applicant who pays for the visa fees. Employer are supposed to pay the fees for assigning the cos

Tier 2 General Extension

Post by farnaaz » Fri Feb 08, 2013 3:01 pm

Please could any one clear what documents are required for Tier2 General Extension application.
Some people say payslips or bank statements for "full specified period".

Some say for 3 months' payslips and some say

I dont need bank statements or payslips but only photographs and passport.

I am confused by the Tier 2 policy guidelines.

Does a Points base assessment need to accompany a Tier 2 extension?
