I have completed biometric enrolment...please what is next?

Post by toladaniel » Sun Sep 02, 2012 3:34 am

I applied under the 14 year rule on the 4th of july.
Acknowledgement letter was received on 14th of August.
I received the Biometric enrollment letter on the 31th August.
completed the Biometric enrolment at the post office on 1st September.
Please can someone advise what happens next? how long more to go?
Does receiving a Biometric enrolment letter mean I will be granted ILR?

Hi toladaniel, you will have to wait about two more months from the Biometric enrollment to receive a decision. (just going by the other peoples timelines on here)

The Biometric enrollment letter does not imply they have granted you ILR. It just confirms that your application is valid and now being considered.

The waiting is painful. Good luck to us all who wait.

Hi, toladaniel,

are you fully qualified, or still few months short?

I applied on the 7th of July, about 1 and half month short, very nervious.
I hope it will work out fine for us.
If you get any result from UKBA, please do let me know.
I will do the same.
thanks.

6 months

Post by ILR(_|_) » Sun Sep 02, 2012 1:30 pm

Hi All,
On the 8th of September it will be 6 months since I received acknowledgement of my Set (o) application (8/3/12). Does anyone know what sort of information they will provide when I'm eligible to phone them up and enquire? Will they actually look into speeding things up or should I just expect a vague answer like "it's with a caseworker"?

Did you use a solicitor or applied by your self?
IF through solicitor,
1. how certain he was about you being granted ILR?
2. Did he tell you what will happen if in case being refused/rejected,
do people like us have the rights to appeal or ask for reconsideration?
3. what is the difference between appeal and asking UKBA to reconsider?

My application timelines

Post by Desperate Soul » Mon Sep 03, 2012 8:41 am

Finaly I got my documents back after exactly 6 months! I have been feeling like that I would never see them again. I moved house after submitting my application and since then I've been haunted by the thoughts that the documents were lost in the post. But anyway now finally no more nightmares. Below is my timeline:

Applicatoin submitted: 3-Mar-12
Ack. letter received: 8-Mar-12
Biometric letter recieved: 16-Apr-12
Application apporved: 9-Jul-12
Documents received: 1-Sep-12
Residence card: Waiting

They kept the document for about 2 months after approving my application. God knows why.

Wish everyone who is still waiting the best of luck. You mush trust it will arrive eventually.

Post by gunner2012 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 9:44 am

hi all,
i have been a silent reader of this forum for last four five months since i send my set m case through postal service. after a long wait finally my documents arrived, i want to thank to all people who posted useful information on this forum coz that was really helpful. my advice to all who are waiting for decision is not to get panic at any stage, keep calm and carry on waiting as your documents with ilr will arrive soon, unless you have waited more than six months then you should contact ukba or your local mp, but before six months deadline finish there is nothing to worry, believe me as i am through all this.
here is my time line below

documents sent 29th march 2012
ack letter recieved 05th april 2012
biometric letter 25th of may 2012 (done same day )
documents arrived today from liverpool office dated 28th august 2012

That is rather quick if you have got your BRP today after giving biometrics on 27th July. Good.
My biometrics were done on 2nd July, still waiting for everything. Mine is SET(O) applied on 20.04.2012

Same here buddy.....new job offers arrived with much better options....just preying to God (I don't think there is anything else we can do....really... as we are on the mercy) for the documents to arrive so that I can join in time, losing this will be a big loss.

Wow that is very quick. Considering you applied in May, and did the Biometrics in August.. unless its a typo and you enrolled the biometrics in July.

Passport and Biometrics finally received

Post by cagedkiwi » Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:46 pm

Finally, after much letter writing and emails to UKBA, politicians and my embassy, I have received my passport and biometrics card. I applied for the ILR set (O) and dates are as below:

dates:
Submitted Application : 22 March 2012
Acknowledgement Letter Received : 30 March 2012 (approx)
Payment Taken : 30 March 2012 (approx)
Biometric Letter Received: 20 May 2012 (letter dated 14 May)
Biometrics done and sent: 21 May 2012
Passport received: 01 Sept 2012
Biometrics card Received : 04 Sept 2012

I waited 23 weeks and 1 day. I have now booked flights for my race in Hawaii (and paid a ridiculous price for such a late booking!). I am over the moon that I have received my passport back - I really thought it would never ever come back. I still think the amount of wasted trips, money and opportunities I have endured due to this unreasonable delay is unacceptable and I feel for you all who still have to wait. If it's financially viable, I will pursue this with the UKBA for the amount of suffering they are causing. We are being punished for no good reason and for following the rules which is just not fair. Like a lot of others have said, you will get your visa back so don't give up hope! I do believe patience is a virtue, but you should still do all you can to ensure your application is ok and processing. Fax/write/email the UKBA, call them if you have any queries as to the process or what you should do. I have found even by ringing the UKBA line and selecting the option which provides more information about the visa process, usually they can still help you with any issues you may have - just don't directly ask about your application as they will flatly say they can't help you! Write letters to your local MP, write to Theresa May, contact a journalist/newspaper/BBC, request information from the UKBA via the freedom of information act. Don't sit there and get more and more frustrated by their incompetence. I have emails for Theresa May, Damien Green and a BBC reporter if anyone wants them. I can help form a letter/email if you need help. I also have a facebook page set up! http://www.facebook.com/pages/UK-Border ... 3546718911
so you can vent your frustrations or add helpful comments to current and future visa applicants:)
Phew! Glad I got all that out! Best of luck to everyone still waiting and make sure you advise future applicants to apply in person if possible - the torture of applying by post is just not worth it. Thanks for reading!!
