Tier 1 General Extension - How early to apply

Post by amolrakheja » Sun Sep 09, 2012 8:11 pm

Hi All
My Tier 1 General (Highly Skilled) is expiring on 28 Oct 2012. Can you please tell me how early I can apply. After reading all discussion I have seen as the processing time is 8 weeks. Is it ok if I apply my extension 6-7 weeks before for current visa expires. I am planning to send my visa application on 17 Sep 2012.

Waiting for your reply.

Cheers
amol

While this is true, it is also true that you can apply earlier than this if you choose to do so. The key point to bear in mind here is that if you apply significantly earlier than your current visa expiry date, then you may have a shortfall in your "leave to remain" when it comes to your subsequent ILR application.
