Hi littlelamb,
I have applied same time as you (posted 09-07-2012 (SET M)), have not received BRP invitation letter yet. I tried calling UKBA but got same answer that i am not in their system yet . I guess in your case atleast you know your case has been entered in to their system, awaiting case worker and BRP letter has not been lost.

There doesn't seem to be consistency for times taken. We have a friend who applied around the same time as us and got his BRP letter yesterday. Does anyone know how its allocated to case workers? Doesn't seem to be a linear system.

Trying not to stress, but its hard not to!

One correction actually i applied on 09-06-2012 so quite behind on BRP letter. I thought uptill BRP process should be standardized so we should all have received BRP in similar time period regardless of complexity of individual case, may be i am wrong and its all depends on grace of UKBA.

Yes it seems there is no consistancy - must depend on which team they are distributed to.

I applied in the last week of June Guys and got Bio metrics invitation last week. Following different timelimes on the forum, I have noticed the average time for Biometrics Invitation letter is between 8-11 weeks depending on how busy UKBA are. I hope you get yours soon.[/quote]

Hi all,

just got a letter back from UKBA saying we hadn't filled out section 9 correctly - missed a few questions. So have to send the form back with them answered.

Pissed off as we payed a lawyer to help fill out the form - this is not the first mistake they've made either!

Another delay in the process, I just hope it all gets sorted!!!

Oh no! I really hope this is not true! After reading several people in this forum who strongly recommended getting your MP on it, I asked mine to write, and then to phone and enquire! Has anybody else heard that they resent people asking on the applicant's behalf and deliberately slow down? In fact, I've noticed that someone whose biometrics were done after mine already got his permit -- mine, like his, was a SET(M), and I had all my documents checked and certified by the Settlement Checking Office. But when my MP phoned up to enquire yesterday, she was told that my application was still "in progress," i.e., nobody has even looked at it yet! I am getting desperate, as I received a wonderful fellowship in France, with a generous stipend, which I've already had to defer once (I should have been there now), and they can't wait more than another few weeks.

It's just sadistic how they play us around -- the stress is unbearable after a while.

Hi just an info. as I was informed by someone that more you try to contact HO by various means (such as MP, etc.) to push your application more they will delay it. Don't know how much of it is true or false!!

Hi everyone! My husband had a phone call from UKBA saying he would receive his Biometric card within 7 days! Rejoice!! However, more than 7 days have passed and still no card, and I notice everyone here receives an acceptance letter, which we have not had. No one here mentions any phone calls either, and it doesn't seem normal. I just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences.

For information, the application was sent via the Manchester checking agency on 19 April, still waiting ...

There doesn't seem to be consistency for times taken. We have a friend who applied around the same time as us and got his BRP letter yesterday. Does anyone know how its allocated to case workers? Doesn't seem to be a linear system.

One correction actually i applied on 09-06-2012 so quite behind on BRP letter. I thought uptill BRP process should be standardized so we should all have received BRP in similar time period regardless of complexity of individual case, may be i am wrong and its all depends on grace of UKBA.

Yes it seems there is no consistancy - must depend on which team they are distributed to.

I applied in the last week of June Guys and got Bio metrics invitation last week. Following different timelimes on the forum, I have noticed the average time for Biometrics Invitation letter is between 8-11 weeks depending on how busy UKBA are. I hope you get yours soon.

Pissed off as we payed a lawyer to help fill out the form - this is not the first mistake they've made either!

The answer to your query is do not panic my friend. Send all the proof that you have. Get a cover letter signed by your wife's sister or your father in law
whoever was responsible for paying the utility bills explaining you/your wife were staying with them mentioning the exact dates/duration of stay with the reason. If UKBA needs to confirm they can contact them using the contact information on the cover letter.

If you want you can contact UKBA asking them the same question before sending them your application and i am sure they will tell you the same. As long as you and your wife are living together now and your marriage is a genuine marriage you do not need to worry.

You can use letters from NHS, DVLA, Inland Revenue in addition to the ones mentioned on the application guide forms. Make sure your bank statments cover all the 2 year period and same with your pay slips.

My application was received on the 4th of July. I received BRP enrolment info yesterday 30.08.2012. Needless to say there was a spelling error on my first name, rang them this am and was told they will be sending correct info in 15 working days.

As many of other people have posted h this is definitely a mental torture that we cannot get any feedback or status whatsoever..I am a Canadian PR as well and they had a pretty decent system of checking the status of your application online...can't believe a country like UK cannot do this!!![/quote]

it's now mid September & I haven't received anything.(6 months).

2 things to note
1) my documents were sent back to me by 'signature required' post but the postman just left it in my postbox.

2) I have stayed outside of the UK more than 180days in a row due to maternity but I was still employed and paying tax while I was away
