Biometric Card Received!!

Post by Ebeth » Tue Sep 18, 2012 4:55 pm

I have watched this forum for many months now - it has been the only solace in many distressing months. Biometric card received today, and here is the timeline:
Set (M)
19 April - application made via Manchester checking agency
22 June - phoned UKBA asking for progress. Managed to speak to someone by saying we had moved address and wanted to make sure they had the new address. (If you use this ploy, make sure you say you do not have internet access and you will be put through to someone) They told us the Biometric paper had been sent, but we had not received it. We asked what address they used, and they could not confirm this!! They said they would send out another form. Meanwhile, I tracked down the letter which had gone to a previous address (two moves before!!). Can't believe their inefficiencies, as the application acknowledgement had been sent to the correct address.
24 June - Biometrics submitted
24 July - second Biometric letter arrived. We phoned asking if they had received the Biometrics taken on 24 June - they could not confirm, just got a reprimand instead, and they advised us to do them again. However, we did manage to extract an email address to check with the Biometric department and they were efficient and responded quickly to say no need to submit again.
5 Sep - phone call from UKBA to confirm they would be sending out Biometric Card within 7 days
18 Sep - Biometric card received!!

5 months (21 weeks)

Good luck to everyone out there, no one can appreciate how stressful it is until you live through it!!
