Appointment for extension or posting the documents

MY extension is due Next year Jan. I have a quetion what is the best option to take whether one day appointment or sending the documents by Post. Please share your experience, it will be v ery helpful.
Also Please consider that we are one main applicant & 4 dependents.

In my opinion go for the appointment if you can get one and if you have the extra cash. Processing of postal apps has been at a standstill for the last few months (almost 4 months for me already) but if you happy to wait then go for this.
