Salaam all...
hope ur all well :)

Farah123 congratssssssss sister :) the wait was finally worth it then eh?
also congrats to everyone else who has been granted :)

at the time u dont realise coz its such a long hard painful wait... but when u get the good news then its like such a relief and think 'that was one big rollercoaster ride'. thats wat i was like.

my hubby will be coming over to the UK next week Insha'Allah. he will be travelling with his expired TB certificate as it shouldnt be an issue.. as long as it was valid at the time the visa was stamped. surely they can see when the TB test was done as its dated and it took them approx 6 months to make a decision.

ALLAH IS GREATEST!

anyways good luck to everyone waiting. i feel for all of u coz i remember the time when i was waiting impatiently lol.. awww dont worry guys trust me when ur least expecting it, u will get
a RFC status ;)

Alhamdulillah my husband visa has been granted. i was expecting him to book a ticket straight away after he collected passport and thought he would of been here the week after. but he was like now im gna be doing ur shopping lol... typical...!bless him though.
so thats the update with me.

i was wondering if anyone who has arrived to the UK recently, what was asked at the airport?

take care everyone

JZK

Nothing to be happy about shazia. UKBA are still useless. They are deciding march/april applications now. Nearly 5-6 months is just apaulling

June applications as mine and yours will come around nov/dec :x

First time post but I have been reading the thread for months and finally though I'd post my timeline which might be guidance for some of you who are still waiting.

We applied for a Spouse visa for my wife at Islamabad.
Visa Submitted - 26/04/2012
Processed to BHC - 10/05/2012
Under process at BHC - 10/05/2012
Got Txt/Call to collect - 19/09/2012

Hopefully the txt means the visa has been granted, will find out tomorrow morning when my missus calls. If its a rejection I'll cry.

Please do dua for me my brothers/sisters inshallah. May Allah bless you all.
Visa granted. - 20/09/2012.

I am so overjoyed and can almost move on with my life. My wife was asked to call between 2-5pm (Pakistan time). I'll ask her again later what the stamp date of the visa is for those who asked

Hope you all hear soon and get positive news too.

Hi Guys

U do not need a valid tb certificate upon arrival in the UK
Also depending on the officer they can ask anything.however, from my personal experience my husband came with me to the uk last week and he was just asked if he could speak english and husband answered yes apart from that i did the talking as the immigration officer asked me my occupation and the address we will be living at and made notes on the landing card that we had filled out.
I wasnt expecting it to be quite so smooth!!but theres nothing to worry about!!good luck and congrats to all those who have had visas granted

Applied at mirpur 29/03/2013

update on gerrys website

Post by kirenkhan » Fri Sep 21, 2012 10:53 am

Hi All,

Just seen this on Gerrys website...
20 Sept 2012: Due to an unexpected public holiday in Pakistan on Friday 21 September, the UK Border Agency at the British High Commission, and Gerry’s visa application centres will all be closed. This may result in a delay in processing visa applications, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. You can track the progress of your application on www.ukvacpk.com/callcentre.html.

We anticipate processing most student applications within 3 weeks of submission, and all student applications within 12 weeks of submission, in line with our global customer service standards.
Thanks
Kiren

What are your comments of contacting your local MP at 13-14 weeks ?? I have emailed my MP and he suggested i wait until 3 full months first. After 3 full months, he's going to email UKBA on my behalf to give them a push.

Gerrys might be open for enquiries etc, but BHC will be closed in the wake of these protests.. people are being killed and given that the targets for these protestors is western governments I doubt they will open until things settle down... at the end of the day i wouldnt want to go to work with people looking to kill you, therefore i dont blame bhc for closing today..

I submitted a day before you, I will be emailing my MP around the same time.

Is there any evidence of MPs actually getting involved and speeding up the process for people who email?

Well mp writes to ukba and they are obliged to reply to him but that does not make things quicker i guess but atleast it gets you some real update not a general one that you will get if you email bhc yourself.
