after 2.5 years away, the inevitable question

Post by WooHoo » Fri Sep 21, 2012 1:37 pm

My wife (Japanese) and I would like to return to the UK. She has UK ILR but has been absent for 2.5 years. We left because she was pregnant and wanted to be near her family while she was a new mother.

So, the inevitable question is:

Would the IO let her keep ILR on the grounds of keeping strong ties with the UK? Her ties are:

* A British husband and daughter.
* About £18,000 in UK accounts that she has left in the UK since leaving.

I wonder if anyone has been successful under similar circumstances :?: :?:

Thank you! That's really helpful.

Do you think a 'home' means somewhere to live or ownership of a property?

Not sure but I think the reference is to ownership.
