We can estimate the waiting time to be around 6 months and prepare ourselves for a good long wait accordingly.
Inshallah we will hear some good news before we know it as we know ukba can take a while. Good luck everyone :)
Applied at Islamabad: 25/06/2012
Under process at BHC: 09/07/2012

Week 21... INSHA'ALLAH it will be granted soon. Please make dua people and my duas are with everyone out there.

The most i've seen is 125 days, anyone gone over 125 or know anyone?

Thanks
My husband received his VISA after almost 7 months of wait.

Visa submitted in ISL on 24/02/12
Passport received: 17/09/2012

Approx 141 working days.

Contacting the MP did nothing to speed up the process as they can only help under compassionate circumstances. My husbands case was fairly straightforward, I have no idea what caused this overly long wait apart from the obvious- heavy workload on the UKBA.

It's actually laughable when I see people's impatient comments and they haven't even passed the 12 week mark! :lol: If I'm putting a dampener on things, I'm sorry but it can be a REALLY REALLY long wait.

The MP informed me that they cannot do anything to speed up the process if it hasn't been 150 working days.

Wow- I suppose I hold the record for the longest time a VISA has ever been processed in 2012. :P

Okkkkkk, Thats not what i wanted to hear :shock:
Thia ia really becoming a joke, we're told 120 days on the official website and quite a few people are going past that ;
100 per cent within 24 weeks of the application date

100% is all applicants so why are they going over this time limit? We pay for this service which is overpriced anyway. i seriously cant understand where this additional money is being invested as no new staff were taken on. The 24 week promise they give is misleading and something should be done if they fail to meet this promise. Otherwise I wouldnt be surprised if gradually the time taken increases to 30 weeks....

@arbab000

Where did you submit your visa app if you dont mind me asking?

I received a letter from my local mp today after a month of writing to him. It was just a standard response he recieved from ukba. there are delays, we aim to complete 95% of applications in 12 weeks and 100% in 24 weeks etc etc. the mp then signed off saying he understands its frustrating but till the deadline he cant do anything for me.

Well its coming up to 24 weeks now for my wife, so hoping for a message in the next few days. If I dont get anything then I will be complaining, ppl are right to complain, the service is a complete joke and I see no justification for the ridiculous fee ppl have to pay for it. The report someone linked a few posts ago might be a few years out of date but the findings are a disgrace and i shudder at the thought of what the latest findings would show.

Please pray for us!

New rules

Post by Jimmy2012 » Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:26 pm

Hi,
I have been following these boards or sometime but posting for the first time. My wife has applied for her visa towards end of August - any post July 9 applicants here? Not sure if applications under the new rules will be processed quicker or will follow the 6 month processing time. All comments welcome. Thanks

Hi, you're halfway through already now so keep patience. I applied in 06/06/12 so i'm expecting a repsonse in mid November. It's mostly likely that yours will be actioned in mid to end of December. But you never know every case is treated individually. So far i've noticed that hardly any one who submitted their case in May has got a response which indicates that it is highly probable that our visa will still be under process right up to the 24th week. Some people are going a few days above this deadline as well.
