Police Registration, when is it needed?

Post by webhunter » Sat Jan 13, 2007 10:21 pm

Hi folks,

I have seen couple of extension applicants in this forum who submitted Police registration certificate?

I dont understand many of us wont have this? When is one exactly asked to register with Police? Is it during stamping or entry into the country or at alter date through post?

It totally depends upon the nationality of that person. That is, citizens of some countries are required to register with the Police ... others are not.

Someone who is required to register ... correct me if I am wrong .... the requirement to register is a condition on the visa?

Hi,

Pravtech,
Are you sure, Is this the case?
Never heard of thie before.

Perhaps, what you are talking abt is the Indian PCC.
Here, the querry being for FLR, I guess it is from UK Police.

correct me if I am wrong.

Indian nationals do not require either to register with police in the UK or submit PCC for EC overseas

Is the police clearance mandatory for EC, or does it depend on the country you are from?

Hi pravtech,

I checked the VAF-1 their is no mention of PCC, for EC.
Can you please share what is the source of this information?

Thanks,

see nnj10,take your passport to passport office and fill the form PCC ,submit the form along with your passport,by evening ull recieve ur passport stamped PCC on it...
the need of PCC is ::To confirm that u dont have any police cases filed against you (like forgery ,robbery etc..)
Itz not mentioned in VAF1 i agree, but while u submit for EC the embassy may or may not ask for PCC,better get it done... :D

Hi pravtech,

I have had EC to 4 countries (more than once) so far and I never had to do what ever PCC stuff you are referring to do.

I am afraid on this occassion, your information is incorrect or is out of context or may be you are referring to something totally different.

Hope that helps to others who are worried about this PCC stuff now.
