'Apply online' service in the UK unavailable until 1 October

Our 'Apply online' service for applicants in the UK will be unavailable between 18:00 on Thursday 27 September 2012 and 06:00 on Monday 01 October 2012 while we carry out essential maintenance.

During this time, applicants in the UK will not be able to submit applications, book appointments or pay for their applications online, or use our 'application form finder' tool.

Appointment booking will be completely unavailable. Please do not telephone us to try to book an appointment. The service will be available again on Monday 1 October.

This does not affect appointments already booked for Friday 28 September. If you have one, please attend.

'Apply online' in the UK is the only service that will be affected. Applicants outside the UK will still be able to apply online using our Visa4UK service.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Can you please provide the source of this information. Does this mean that the appointments will be available from "27th Sep + 42 days" or will they be available from "1st Oct + 42 days".

It means that between the times mentioned, amongst other things which will be unavailable, appointments cannot be booked - neither by phone nor through the website.
If you wish to book an appointment, try only after 06:00 hours on 01-Oct-12.
