First time HSMP applicants what is the initial period?

Post by zyx2007 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 4:20 pm

Hello All,

Those who got approval of new application of HSMP under new rules. What is the initial period? It used to be 1 year, but i heard like they are giving for 2 years now a days. Is it correct?

Cheers
Zyx.

Thanks Shock.

One more question. Is 2 years is minimum or can they give for 1 year also. I am in the country and on WP. If i apply now will i get 2 years or is there any change of getting 1 years also?

Will the period be mentioned in the approval letter? i dont wanna do it if i get only for 1 year. I dont bloody trust these HSMP people.

Cheers,
Zyx.

not that i am any expert, but i am willing to put $$$£££ it is for 2 years for all people - regardless of time left on your Work Permit, Working Holiday Visa etc.

You are switching over to new visa which is 2 years initial period.

Unless of course they change the rules BEFORE you send in your application...

EDIT: it is worth noting that Home Office aren't a total bunch of <insert unpleasant word here>.
They are giving 4 year HSMP extensions to those who only got HSMP for 1 year initially, in light of the 5 year ILR requirement changed last year. Thats quite decent of them.

Hi,

Can someone please clarify whether I can show UK Earning if:

I am in UK for last 7 months (Jul-Dec 2006)
and Out of UK prior to 7 months...(June 2005 - Jun - 2006)

As per new HSMP rules???

Thanks

This is already covered, within the past hour, in the thread 'HSMP extension documents'.
Your main income points have to cover the period they define (12 months or 8 months for extension). UK earning just has to be a certain amount earned in the UK at some point in that period, as stated in the UK earnings section.
