Any ideas how much time applying for a COS takes?

Post by davidCondeMarin » Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:55 am

Hi

I have an employer who applied for a COS on my behalf almost 2 months ago. The application says that is outstanding still and we ask to the UKBA most weeks getting the same result. Is this happening to many people or is it just my process. We applied a bit after the Olympics started, so I kinda think that probably this has to do with the delays, however, it would be ok to know if there is a way to speed up the process?

Thanks in advance,
David

David is your company already a registered sponsor and just assigning COS to you? Like myself A lot people have been waiting on the Ukba. My company applied back in mid may to become a sponsor and we are still waiting. The Ukba hasn't even looked at our application yet. Very frustrating!

Yes, they are already a registered sponsor. It took a month, but it was quicker than I thought. However, the CoS is there.. just waiting. It's very annoying that it takes so much time to get that sorted as I've read a couple folks saying it's a one week process.

Hopefully everything get sorted for you quickly. I'm surprised it only took a month. Do you know when your company applied for a sponsor license?

Is your company applying for a Restricted Certificate of Sponsorship?

If so, when did they apply for it?

I'm not quite sure, however, since I'm outside of the UK, I think that's the case. However, I don't know.

My company is also A rated. Besides, I have the understanding that you cannot apply for a COS if you are not A rated. Anyways, they are A rated, but I've been reading that application for COS is being delayed due to UKBA focusing on students that have exceeded their stay time.

When did your company applied for the COS?

Hi,
I heard people got COS in week time during April. Even my company got it in 2 weeks. But this is the first time I am hearing a company has got COS in 3 hours. Also I know people in this forum and outside this forum who have been waiting for more than 2 or 3 months.

@itmeraj: It would be the greatest help for lots of people if you would let us know what procedure your company followed to get the cos in 3 hours. I know there are premium A rated companies who has to pay around £5000 to UKBA per year and their requests are handled in 48 hours. Please show us some light in it.

Thanks.

My company was not on Tier 2 register, we applied for one along with one COS. The application was made in March 2012 and we only received a response last month so it took nearly 5 months..

Well today is supposed to be the day they have that meeting

So I guess we'll have to see if there is an allocation

Would you be able to confirm that your employer is applying for the Restricted CoS?

Im only curious, cause I'm in europe still and making plans to fly back home to Sydney and need to confirm the timing of the Restricted CoS

Cheers bro

If I get any news, I'll update you as well

Just letting you know I'm getting a Restricted CoS

I called the UKBA boarder agency and they stated that after the 11th of each month, it usually takes 2 working days to receive the Restricted CoS

I read on the boards that its taking longer than usual and the UKBA site doesn't update the allocation details...

CoS Allocated!

Post by davidCondeMarin » Mon Nov 19, 2012 5:59 am

Shamino wrote:Any luck today davidCondeMarin?
Thanks for asking and the help I received. The CoS was finally allocated on November 6th, a bit after the document from Cambridge suggested, but quite on time. The allocation took 2 months.
I've prepared all the relevant documents and submitted my visa request a few days ago, let's hope things go well!!

Thanks for all the help folks!
