Does Child Care Vouchers Come Under Public Funds ?

Post by manindergill » Wed Jan 17, 2007 3:10 pm

My employer has a offering of £ 243 per month which I can use for paying child Nursery fee and which will reduce my gross taxable income by £ 243 per month. As this reduction in gross makes a profit of around £ 43 per month to me by saving extra payment of NI and Income Tax, My question is whether this benefit comes under Public Funds or only under employer benefits.

No, this has come up on this Board before, and the conclusion was that because the vouchers are not provided by the Government they cannot possibly be within the definition of "Public Funds".
