FLR(M) advice needed --- Section 11

Post by innocentdevil » Thu Oct 11, 2012 5:06 pm

Hi,
Filling the form, it says "Your partner’s current passport or travel document showing that he/she is present and settled in the UK. If you
are unable to provide this, see Note 6 about other suitable documents. List any such documents below"

I do not really want to send BRP Card away if it gets missing.

I can send the BRP confirmation letter away with wife's application along with other documents.

What would you guys suggest ?

Not wanting to send it is not a valid excuse.

i know it isn't but too risky business that is.

I might ring UKBA tomorrow and see what they say.

I am not sure what you are so worried about. They don't return the BRP when the application is granted anyway, it is destroyed.

No -it will be retained and destroyed when the FLR application is granted not just when she gets citizenship.

i think you may have misunderstood my question.

My wife has not got a BRP Card, the visa vignette is on her passport.

I have got my ILR and as she has not completed 2 years in the UK so I need to extend her stay using FLR(M) under the rules before 9 July 2011.

I never had a BRP either so just had one after my ILR. I was asking because the question says that I should send original documents with the application. hence, my BRP Card. It is valid BRP which I need to keep till I apply for citizenship next year so I do not understand why you are saying it will get destroyed as it is my BRP. She will get her BRP after her extension is granted, shouldn't she ?

Yes i misunderstood i thought you were talking about your wife's BRP.

You could try to send a certified copy of your BRP but they may still request the original.
