Visa for Child Born in Uk

Hi Friends,

I am expecting a baby in Feb -13 and my visa is expiring in June -13. Do i need to apply for a visa before i go for a extension in june or can i get the first visa for my child during my extension after getting passport from Indianhigh commission ? Pls. help
