Tier1 General extension due in 2 weeks, salary + dividends

Post by Uni_SK » Tue Oct 16, 2012 2:49 pm

Hello everyone

I have been following this forum for quite a long time, but never posted anything here.

I have my PEO appointment for my Tier1 general extension in 2 weeks time.

My situation:
I am working as a permanent employee, but my salary alone does not fetch me enough points. I am also a partner in my spouce's limited company and earning dividends from it.

My questions:
1. Can I use dividends payments to claim points in addition to my permanent job salary ?
2. If I can, what documents do I need to produce to support ?

I am thinking to get a letter from the company accountant explaining the share holding ratio and earnings from Limited company. I already have the dividend vouchers and business bank statements to show the amounts credited.

Do I need to produce any other documents like invoices, company incorporation certificate... etc ??

Sorry if my questions sound stupid, but really appreciate your help.

Thanks very much in advance..!!!

Hi Uni_sk

Yes you can claim points for the dividends income even if you are employed some where else.

To claim dividens you need to be a share holder of the company.

To claim points you would need to provide dividend vouchers along with the accountant (ACCA Accredited) letter and company accounts.

Thanks,
OM
