Tier 1 Dependant Ext Applicatipn from India

Hi Guys
Can I apply Tier1 dependant extension from India if I get my Tier 1 extension here.
If yes what minimum balance I need to maintain for them.
Is it 1800 per dependant or 600 per dependant.

You need to be in UK to seek permission to "remain" (Leave to remain aka extension).
From outside UK, you can only seek permission to "enter" (visa).

So the answer is that I cannot apply dependant extension from India
So dependants can not return to their country and apply for tier 1 extension.
I though that tier 1 main applicant has to be in uk for an extension and dependant can do it from anywhere

I think I was not clear.
I have my tier 1 visa extended in uk.
My dependants my wife and two daughters they want to go back to India for vacation and apply tier 1 dependant extension from there.
They dont want to submit tier 1 dependant application here because it will take long time for postal applications and they will not be able to travel to india

As already advised, they can apply in India but it will not be considered an extension of leave to remain; it will be a new application for leave to enter (as visa). Apart from that, it won't make any difference.

Since the current leave expires in 01 July 2012. I will make sure that they apply before that that. If they apply before 8th of july it will not be a problem right.

1. Maintenance of funds is it 1800 for them or 600 since they are applying from India. My status is that I am in UK for almost 2 years and my tier 1 extension has happened. Is there a document i need to provide which states that I am in uk more that 1 year
2. hsbc uk Bank statements to be given to vfs in india can be 1 month old from date of application or 7 days old.
3. Their addressto be written in form should be indian address or uk address

I have received a phone call today from UKBA that they have posted my documents also they have provided a tracking number. Just waiting for my documents

Also one additonal thing
whether applying from India for tier 1 dependant extension will affect negatively applying for ILR .

You have already been told multiple times that "extension" cannot be applied for from outside the UK.

An EC application made before 09-Jul should not affect their eligibility for settlement.

Here the dependents already got their first EC and it will expire when they will be in India. So they need to apply for new EC. The first EC was granted before 9th july so will they fall under the new settlement rule?

The first EC will be irrelevant. If anyone applies for EC after 9 July (first time or second time around or otherwise) they will be applying according to the new rules regime.

I will see that apply before 8 july from india .
I have problem, I still have recived a bpr card for myself can i still apply from india for my family with the help of approval letter only. when i had written to them they said there are some technical problems and will resolve soon. i havevrecd aproval leter dt 17 june on 20 th jun

If you receive the BRP before 01-July, fax it to your dependant for it to be included. Else, submit the application with copy approval letter.

If refused, appeal with the reason that it is UKBA's fault that it takes 10 working days to issue a BRP (or in some cases even more) and the applicant cannot be penalized for the delay caused by UKBA's inefficiency, and that the approval letter is sufficient evidence of a successful application and grant of leave.

Will they get 3 years visa or 2 years visa. i am on 2 plus 3 now.
If they appled after 8th july do the 5 year start from first ec or second ec. they came to uk after 1 year of first ec.

If approved, their leave will expire on the same day as yours.
Since the exact wordings of the new rules is unknown as on date so there may be remote chance that if they apply after 08-Jul they may be eligible for settlement only in 2017. Because of this ambiguity (on date), they are better off applying for entry clearance before 09-Jul.

My wife is travelling to india before our visa extension (I am the main applicant)

So in this case the application for entry clearance (for my wife) will happen in Dec 2012

How will that affect ILR? given that she has stayed with me in UK for 2 years now?
