Post by Sunilrana80 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 8:44 am

I recently got my ilr on the 5 th of this month.....my baby was born here in july this year....i did not register her anywhere as was waiting for my ilr application...now when i am filling MN1 form there is a column asking for her present nationality...We are from india...my wife is still on dependant visa ..so what do i fill in for the present nationality of my baby?
Point 1.3 they have asked when was she given ILR to enter remain in uk? She was born here...

Nationality - Indian.

Q1.3 asks "if and when". If not relevant, leave blank (ILR not required for children born in the UK).

Just one more question to think about ....

Does she have an indian passport? If not, isnt she considered stateless and hence have to apply on a different category?

No.
Not having a passport doesn't mean you are not a citizen.

(The fact that India require to register a child birth doesn't make him stateless).

Mn1 form

Post by Sunilrana80 » Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:23 pm

Hi ,
This is regarding the continuation topic for mn1 form..requiring marriage certificate. As u said it is not required but given on page pg 30 of mn1 form guidance it is given as. One of requirement for children living in U.K.. This is a topic of concern as i am simultaneously applying for the extension of my wifes visa which requires marriage certificate as well....

This has been discussed before. See MN1 - Section 1(3) - Parent's Marriage Certificate?.

just to make sure Sunilrana80 feels safe.

Sunilrana80 even our case is similiar where my son is born on june 10th 2011 and i got my ILR on june 23 2011 .

so when we registered using form mn1 he is indian by birth since we did not get ILR when he was born.

we applied the same and was approved.
