Hi hsmp28122006

First of all - thank you for replying! You are one of only a hand few which has bothered to reply. So thanks mate!

The reason I am sending all those documents is becuase the Entry Clearance doesn't actually state what we need to send in - "make sure you have provided all relevant orignial supporting documentation, including your passport. Details can be on our our info leafelets..."

So I go to their info leaflets and it doesnt say anything! Sooo frustrating. Why can't they just list what information they want.

I was planning on filling it in, sending my passport, bankstatements (how much do I need to show them??????) and my HSMP acceptance letter alog with my letter from a mate saying im staying with him...
What else do I need??????

Finally, do you know what I should write about intentions to go to the UK?

According to HSMP guidelines and my earlier communication with HSMP Customer Service, their primary requirement is degree certificate (with optional NARIC comparability letter), transcript is required if degree is not issued (as exceptional evidence). I believe the cleaner the case is (in form of more specific document evidence) hopefully will result in a positive case :)

Rejection

Post by akumarsapuk » Tue Jan 23, 2007 3:29 pm

guys

mine is a rejection. :( .

I claimed 90 points and they have awarded 90 points. The issue is with english language assessment.

I provided letter from university. The rejection letter says that
"You have stated the previously gained a qualification equalant to band 6 ielts. The certificate is not recognized as equal to Band 6 by Naric".

I have assessed the reasons based on the letter as below:

The university which gave letter not listed by NARIC. So they do not consider certificate issued by university.
So if some one providing proof for english language as university letter, they must go through NARIC evaluation for equalancy to the UK degree.

The best way is to give IELTS to be sure of the case.

The other reason is that in the check list I have wrongly checked which looks as if I am claiming that the university letter is equalent to ielts band 6 under exceptional circumstances. But my intension was to check the second check box instead of 4th check box in the check list.

Based on the letter it looks like he considered the evidence against 4th check box and rejected.

I am going for a review but no hopes that it will get approved.

Spoke to customer reps but they say that the proofs provided for ielts are not recognized by NARIC.

Hope this helps to lot of guys.

Please go to IELTS if you want to be sure.

Thanks
Anil

very sad news,

Anil, you can request for review with very good explanation that the guidance notes has not mentioned about ielts equivalent for Letter from University. They just mentioned that ur degree should be UK equivalent and the letter from University awarding the degree.
You can go for legal proceedings against such HO decisions. You will surely win them because Naric equivalency was no where mentioned for letter from University.

By the way, can you share the univeristy and degree on which u claimed the english proficiency. This will help others who r going to apply.

Thanks
msb

Hi Usman, best of luck.

In the form for english language proficiency section.

at point it mentions IELTS test report form and at another point "IELTS certificate" . Are both one and the same thing as i have not been able to find an IELTS Certificate as such.

Checlist also mentions only IELTS TRF

4. My degree
5. Pay slips
6. Bank statement showing $320,000 Aussie Dollars
7. Statement from the bank showing all the assets (stocks. bonds etc) I own
8. Picture (I am mighty hansome! ahhah) for passport thingo
9. Cover letter
10. Birth certificate
11. Letter stating my degree was in English
12. The payment slip so they can charge me some more processing fees

And also, please confirm:
1. What is my intention to go to the UK
2. and for how long
3. how much money do i need to show of proof of funds?

Basically I am sending everything I sent to Sheffield to get the HSMP Approved. Is this what you are suppose to do? Am I misssing something or too much information? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ADVICE - Ill behave myself if you do give advice!

Hi mate. I think entry clerance rules in part depend on which country you are entering from, but i have seen several entries citing first person experiences FROM INDIA in this forum in a seperate heading related to entry Entry Clearance..you may like to search that.

I didnt appear for IELTS, i just applied for naric, sent letter from uni + naric letter thats it...

Aussiedude,

Can you tell me what did your letter mention.. Did it say categorically that you have been taught at IELTS level 6.5 or above that level...???

I was speaking to the call center for HO, the lady told me that the letter from the college / university would not help unless it mentions that the degree was taught above level ielts level 6.5 or above that..

Back to top
This 6.5 logic seems pretty crazy. Not only is it not mentioned in guidance notes , even if accepted why are they asking university to give 6.5 assurance when the ask for IELTS above band 6 (and not 6.5) when you take IELTS.

Hi akumarsapuk,

This is very bad news hearing from you. You are in UK why dont you applied for NARIC your qualification comparability certificate. Even tough it is optional.

Hope so get the certificate from NARIC equilance UK degree certificate and apply for review. Mean while plan for ILETS.

Hi all,

I called to 6020 today morning, the person said your application is assigned to caseworker. But i didnt get any email saying that assigned CW? Shall i get the email or not?

My ref no is :203XXX. XXX is 850 to 950.

I asked for expected time for decision on my application. The person said 5 to 10 weeks. But i have seen in this forum, most of our friends are got results within 2 or 3 days after assigning to CW.

Mine is incountry application.

Let me pray to god, i will update status.

Thanks,
Raman999

Hi blueteam,

I called today the HSMP office and some one there passed me this information after I requested them.

So far no clue what went wrong because I provided lot of documentation just because of translation .

I have to wait for my documents and letter.

Only thing I can think for now is I didnot provide any letter for english language because in my degree certificate it was mentioned as Medium English.

Let`s see ,

Wish you the best

Hi mate,

I have looked at the British High Commission website in Oz as I will be applying for that soon as well. I just sent off my HSMP application today!!

If you check out the following site;
<http://bhc.britaus.net/Visas/visadefault.asp?id=306>
At the bottom of that it states;
*****************************
How to Apply for entry clearance:

The following items should be included as part of your application:

*
Completed application form VAF1 - answer all questions
(Note: It is not necessary to complete this form if you apply online)
*
An official HSMP approval letter from Work Permits (UK)
* One passport size photograph (see here for specifications)
* Current passport
*
Bank statement showing proof of funds available
* Application fee and postage

For Dependants: If you are admitted to the UK under the HSMP scheme your spouse and children under 18 may be admitted to the UK with you provided they have an entry clearance for this purpose.
Where do I send my application?

If you have downloaded and completed form VAF1, you should send your application to the Visa Section of the British High Commission in Canberra. Alternatively, you can apply online.
********************************

Hope this is of some use,
Chris
