2 months old Born baby - ILR or BC

Post by Vijay.pailla » Fri Aug 03, 2012 11:24 am

Hi all,

Please help me with the following information:

I am on my Tier-1 General since Dec 2009, previously HSMP since Dec 2007. I am due to apply for my ILR in Nov 2012.

I am expecting a baby in September 2012.

1. Shall I apply for my kids Indian Passport and add her as a dependent on my ILR application
2. Shall I directly apply for her citizenship in UK and not adding her as a dependent for ILR.

The reason I am asking this is, I can save money on the kids application form and also I am not sure if I can manage applying the kids passport with in a month. If any delay in the kids passport process, I will lose my time.

Please help me with the above query.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
VJ

First, I would like to wish you safe and happy days ahead with your soon to arrive baby.

The appropriate option to take would depend on what you mean by 'I will lose my time'.

I personally would go for option 2, if there are no imminent travel plans after the baby's birth, with current MN1 processing times averaging 3 months before Passport process.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Safer is , first apply passports(indain) to your kids . later you can decide whether to include as dependent in your application or apply naturalization. if your child born after your ILR , the baby is eligible for British Citizenship directly with out applying naturalization.

Thanks u very much wpilr_nov12 and Krishnalvr.

As you both said, I will apply for the passport for the baby and then I will not include her in my ILR dependent.

As of now, got some time to plan.

Thanks a lot again to both of you.
