Dependent time out of the uk

HI Forum,

I have a slightly uncommon query. I will be applying for ilr for me and wife in december. While my absences from the uk are withhin allowed limits I wonder if she is ssaffe too. Can someone quickly summarize what the criteria are for set(O) dependents?

Thanks sushdmehta. I understand your point about going through the existing posts before posting, but I needed some feedback on my specific case hence this post. I do not want to get surprises at the PEO, so please bear with me.

So, in the last 5 years my partner was out of the country during the following times:

1. December 31 2009 - January 17 2010 - 18 days
2. January 20, 2011 - April 09, 2011 - 80 days
3. December 8, 2011 - January 4, 2012 - 28 days
4. October 4, 2012 - October 28th 2012 - 25 days

Now can someone point if there would be any glitch when I add her as a dependent in my application?

i don't think it matters for dependent. i cannot find any compound answer on this either though.

I could not find any clear answer to this either, hence was looking for some feedback from the experts or someone with a personal experience.

The point was not entirely that you should read existing posts before posting queries (though it is recommended that one does so) but that the answer to your specific case and uncommon query "exists" in that topic, should you care to read it. There is a reason it is titled FAQs!!

Oh I saw Q16 but not Q12, here is the key bit in Q12 I guess:

Only principal migrant is subject to these (absence) requirements, not dependant(s).

Sorry for being dense. I really should have read that more carefully.
