Very nice of u john..thanks for you suggestons..
I had been to uk in 2002 on WP and visa validity was for 18 months. I had some problem with WP (after 18 months period) extention becos the company who did extention was bad or the my initial company who did WP was out of business..something happend. I in turn applied for extention thru some other company and it was also rejected..this process took some 6 months..and after that i came back..
Do I have to explain all this to VFS people and mention in the VFS form..or shall I just say , i was there for 6 months and came back. in this case, I wouldnt show my old passport which had WP visa on it. I have a new passport now as old one got expired. honestly, i didnt want to hide anything, but fear that my old experience might affect the EC now. what do u suggest..

I thought you already guessed by seeing my IP address that I am applying from INDIA :)

Now, I have following questions:

1) They mention that "Demand Draft" is needed for Visa fees. Would it be from ANY bank?
2) 2.3 Place of birth: City name or full address?
3) 2.14 Your correspondence address, if different from 2.13: Can I give my office address? Note that, address mentioned in HSMP approval letter is not the office address.
4) 5.2 On what date do you intend to arrive?: It's not yet fixed. What should I write?
5) 5.6 Please give the full address and telephone number of all the places where you will be staying during your visit, including
hotels. : What is the meaning of "ALL the places". I have just booked the hotel, that too for 15 days, rest will be decided after my arrival in UK. So, what should I write in this section?
6) 6.7 What is your monthly income from employment? Is it before tax or after tax?
7) 7.2 Please give the name, address and telephone number of your UK employer: I have not got the job yet. What should I state here?
8- 7.4 Work permit number: I did not find it written anywhere in the HSMP approval letter.

I request you ppl to help answering these questions. Thanks!

John

I am applying from India. am an Indian national, living currently in India.

Please respond to my earlier question of overstaying...I have my old WP letter and passport with UK stamp. Now that the passport was expired, i took a new one two years ago.

do you suggest me to tell the VFS people everything or just dont tell them at all.

I would prefer to be honest but fear of EC loss...

pl advise..this is the final stage of my entering into UK.

hsmp28122006,

Answers to your queries:

1. I paid in cash. No problem; in fact the VFS only accept cash.
2. Only city name; in bracket you may put your state. Even better, put whatever is there on your passport.
3. Doesnt matter; you can give office address; thats what i did.
4. Write the date that you think you will need to be in UK. Not a hard and fast rule about this.
5. Just give the address of the hotel; that should be sufficient (thats what i did).
6. Before tax.
7. Say N/A.
8. Again N/A. On safer side you may write the reference number of your HSMP approval, thats what i had done after reading it on this forum; but when i submitted my form, the VFS officer just crossed it with the remark - "N/A".

Hope this helps!

When you posted that, yes, your IP address indicates India .... but earlier in this topic a totally different IP address appears to have been used.

I have only one comment to make .... tell the truth ... do not complete the VAF1 form inaccurately.

thanks again John.
So you reckon, telling the truth wouldn't harm my EC. i.e overstay wouldn't hinder my EC processing...thats my biggest worry...job offers have already lined up and my only hurdle now is EC.....

Each application is judged on its merits and clearly no one on this Board is able to give any guarantees about anything.

Except I think it is clear that .... get caught in the lie ... wave the visa goodbye!

VFS does accept bank drafts favoring the relevant High / Deputy High Commission for the visa fees. The draft can be from any bank but payable at the location where the BHC is (e.g.- if applying to BHC Chennai, the draft has to be payable at Chennai).

Buy yes, you'll need to pay the additional VFS charges (and courier fees) by cash.

Hi there,

Regarding "MEDICAL CHECKUP" during EC:

See: http://www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk ... 1827277310

This web page shows the information on whether medical checkup is required or not at the time of entry clearance. It appears that medical checkup is only required for people who have to work as doctors or in food industry.

My findings

Post by hsmp28122006 » Thu Jan 25, 2007 10:38 am

I went to VFS Bangalore today.

After waiting for one and half an hour, my number came. Showed the documents for concerned person. She told that Degree is also required, infact all the documents on which basis you qualified HSMP, are required here too.

hsmp28122006,

I applied for my EC yesterday in Delhi and from my experience, please carry a photocopy of your degrees and financial documents....The VFS guys checked my original degrees and FDs etc but only took photocopies instead of originals. So it might help you to carry photocopies as well.

All the best!

Regards.

Hi indian234,

I am from Delhi and so I applied at VFS Delhi....To answer your query, I suppose you could apply in any VFS office of your choice, I don't see how this should make a difference if you are prepared to travel to Delhi from AP.

I had also applied for a UK visit visa in the past through my organisation while I was based in Hyderabad and everytime I did that, my application was sent to BHC in Chennai to be stamped. So I presume the same would happen in your case too if you apply from AP!

EC in Delhi

Post by bodyguard » Sat Jan 27, 2007 2:08 pm

Hi There,

2 short questions for filing EC in Delhi:
1. The form has to be filled up in blue ink or black ink?
2. Shall I paste 45x35 mm sized photo on the form or the 50X50 mm sized photo?

Please let me know..

Hi Bodyguard,

1. The form has to be filled up in blue ink or black ink?
You should fill the form up in Black Ink.

2. Shall I paste 45x35 mm sized photo on the form or the 50X50 mm sized photo?
VFS took 45x35mm photographs in my application. I had carried photographs in both sizes to be on the safe size...Can I please suggest, do not stick any photographs on the form yourself and carry photographs instead. VFS guys would stick the photographs on your form at the time of submission.

Best of luck!

boys,

thanks for all ur posts.

I am planning to go for EC in the first week of feb.

I want to apply EC for myself and my spouse. pl tell me couple of things...

- is it mandatory to submit our resume and all previous employers details i.e appointment and relieving letters
- is it mandatory to submit the old expired passport. becos i read in the VAF1 form , there is a column abt the previous passport number.

we shld better have a thread on the documents to be submitted for EC. this will help everybody.

And last but not least, there is a mistake in the approval letter regarding my surname..they have printed it as wrong...i.e they have added a letter 'n' i.e instead of 'pudi' they have written has 'pundi'...
does it make any difference. how to get it corrected if required...

thanks,

Asked to attend the interview

Post by manjith27 » Sun Jan 28, 2007 7:53 am

Hi Friends,

I got my HSMP approval on Nov 29th and applied for stamping on 10th of december. Now I got a call last week from the EC and they asked me to come for an interview on 30-01-07. I have submitted all the documents including 2 Years IT Returns, property documnets, salary slips, academic documents. Now, I wonder what on earth made them to call me for the interview. Anyways the fact is I have to attend the interview. Can somebody suggest what sort of questions would be asked in interview.

Expecting help from you guys. Thanks in advance for help or any queries.

Cheers,
Manjith A
