Am I right in thinking however that Sofia in Bulgaria is far, far cheaper than Warsaw or Prague at the moment? Like, maybe even half the price?

Yes. Bulgaria is dirt cheap, probably not half the price though. But it's also a place where you get stopped on the highway by a bunch of armed guys who want to steal the tyres of your car. If you don't mind safety issues at all, then Bulgaria could be a suitable place to live.

Never try london, if you dont get at least £ 35K a year! This city sucks your wallet, believe me. You live misery with your money too.
