Aww congrats to those who have had their visas granted.

I emailed the embassy on the 11th oct from my work address and they still didn't reply, but when my husband emailed (applicant) they replied the next day standard email stating about their delays etc and they will process it as soon as possible, gerrys replied saying 24 weeks is the minimum??!! Please tell me that's wrong?

Anyways to the person who mentioned a few pages back u was right they will only reply if u email from the main applicants email address.

I'm excited and nervous because I know our time is coming soon in sha Allah, but this is painful.

I just spoke to my HR representative who told me they have not heard anything. I think we are in it for the long haul :(
Can you say for sure ?
Absolutely, I work for a very large conglomerate company. They have confirmed no contact has been made by the British Embassy. They seem to be taking their time with Islamabad applicants. One of my friends got his visa granted for his Mrs a few weeks ago and they did not carry out any checks with his employer. I personally think we are in it for the long haul and will get our answer very close to the deadline unfortunately. :(

If you provide ample evicence of your employment status, ie. payslips and headed letters, there is no need for them to contact your employer.

In fact it's more concerning when they contact your employer than when they don't.

This thread just as the one that got closed with 1000 pages has become a joke. Sidra51 got her visa at least 10 of the next 15 posts in this thread said "aww congrats" or "mubarak" etc.

People have to sift through pages and pages and pages to get any useful info.

If you provide a P60 or payslips, if you provide a headed letter confirming your employment status and/or your employment contract, why do they need to confirm?

The only times they contact employers are when they doubt your documentation or your status. So if you have provided strong evidence of your employment status you need not worry.

Every single person I know who's spouse was granted a VISA, their employers were not contacted.

Even though I say congrats, but yes people we need to calm down with congrats and it would be better to pm the person with the congratulation message.

@ king2be, whats happening with Islamabad applicants? Do you have any news or information?

There are multiple applications per day from each AC, Islamabad when I last checked Islmabad was the busiest of the 4 ACs.

Islamabad applications are also handled almost entirely in ISB, whereas applications from other ACs are processed in Abu Dhabi as well. In which case Abu Dhabi applications are handled in batches and ISB ones are more one at a time.

Like king2be said that they will only contact employers if they doubt your documents and from what you have provided you will be ok.

Look people we don't want this board to close as it is very helpful so then stick to the topic pls
