who needs to self-assessment taxing

Post by webhunter » Sun Jan 28, 2007 10:34 pm

I am confused by the recent self-assessment taxing advertisement on TV. The deadline is this month end.

My tax is deducted at source by my employer. Do i need to fill out and send this self-assessment form?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Only if you have received a notice from the TO that you have to file your returns.

That advert is not aimed at employed people with single source of tax deducted income, rather its a proven method to squeeze money into Mr Gordon Browns treasury by scaring all those poor-n-broken self-employed souls(especially after x'mas/new year) who watch some tv after a harddays work in the prime time.
