REJECTED Citizenship Application - Need Advice

Post by Frank-James » Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:49 pm

Hi,

I'm writing on behalf of a distraught friend who has recently received rejection to her British application and was looking for some advice to help her.

She had successfully:
  • - Passed the Life in the UK test
    - Received ILR status over a year ago
    - Has been living and working in the UK for 6 years
    - And had her citizenship application checked by one of the council services
The letter she received said that it was rejected on account of the quota for applicants from the Middle East (she is from Turkey) being met?

She did not know that such a thing existed, as if she had known she would have waited to apply, is this something any of you are familiar with?

Also what are there any next steps for appealing/re-applying?

Thank you in advance!

It would be better that your friend post here as normally things get lost when you are not the person involved.

There aren't any quotas for naturalisation. Her reason for refusal doesn't make sense.

I agree with Jambo , this doesn't make sense , and if she said that was the reason for refusal , then she is not telling you everything because there is NO such thing as quotas in naturalisation , if that was the reason , then everyone who applied after her should be rejected because quotas exist on an annual number basis NOT country based as that would be clear discrimination . Besides , the UKBA would have noted that on their website , so she isn't telling the actual reason mate .
