Indian Passposrt Holder - US visitor visa from the UK

Post by captain74 » Fri Feb 02, 2007 10:37 am

Hi

I am currently in the UK under the HSMP scheme and have limited leave to remain till 2011.

I want to visit my brother in the US later this year and am wondering if the US embassy in London will issue me (and my wife and daughter) a visa or ask us to apply from our home country i.e. India.

The guidance on the embassy web site does state that they prefer if you apply from your homre country and issuing visa from anywhere else is difficult.

The problem is - they also state that you should apply well in advance of the proposed travel date and submit your passport witht he application.

Being in full time employment in the UK makes it virtually impossible for me to travel to India for a long period and apply from there.

Does anyone on the forum have any experience of a similar situation? Any suggestions?

Help deeply appreciated!

Regards
