Expediting / withdrawing application

Hello all

Can anyone share their experiences of successfully expediting their Tier 1 visa extensions? I need to travel to attend my own wedding in January and need my passport back. My local MP claims to not have had a response from UKBA.

I read on these boards that a request for expediting can be made directly to UKBA via fax, with the proviso that if the visa can't be processed by x date, then the applicant agrees to withdraw the application entirely. How do I go about doing this?

Would love to hear from anyone with experience of expediting or withdrawing their applications.

Two weeks back, one of my friends expedited the application by faxing to UKBA Sheffield.

He got biometric cards within a week of sending fax. You may try sending supporting doc along with signed request letter to UKBA, no need to put any expedite by X date.

I also expedited my application and based on my experience i would say sending fax personally works better than going through MP.
