ILR Set(O) July 2012 Applications

Post by Spidery_thread » Thu Dec 06, 2012 4:02 pm

I can feel the pain as I have paid them more than 15K in last 11 years along with my dependants. We all know they pay us to take it back.
My Set(O) application wasn't even seen by the case worker as of 5 Nov 2012, while Bio were provided on 29 Aug 2012.
Fingers crossed...I'll be approaching my local MP, if I don't see things happening by 4 Jan 2012.

Biometrics taken on 27 November 2012.

They check if your application is valid, is the form completed correctly and they copy all the documents including passports so documents are sent to the UKBA for a fee of £85.00.

we wanted to go through premium but taking into account that it was very difficult to book an appointment soon we decided to go this way. we are not planing anything for next 6 months so better to keep almost £400

I would suggest to take a solicitor, if you have any doubts to be confident enough to face the case worker.

Prepare to travel to far PEO's if appointments not available in the nearest one. Currently Belfast has most appointments.

The good news is that my application has been approved. The bad news is that UKBA sent the approval to my old address, which I had changed online in September. I received the forwarded approval letter/documents in the post today. I assume they're trying to deliver the BRP to my old address as well. Sent an email to BRPDelivery and also rang the general line where I was told to try changing my address online again, which I've done.

Anything else I should do or am I stuck in limbo until I hear something back from BRPDelivery?

Gosh, we are waiting since April and I still had a hope that we will receive some news before holidays start to visit family and friends. But it looks like I need to make arrangements for the holidays here :(

Hi Galathea,

Did you call UKBA or wrote to the Liverpool Settlement Team?

I you have not, I would suggest call UKBA and insist to speak to a supervisor, you have to be really firm on you request to speak to the supervisor.

They can provide you a specific address to write to your caseworker directly.

This is a tried and tested method.

Best of luck...

Thank you for the advice, our solicitors do the talking for us, but no specific update so far - the answer they receive from UKBA - we have a backlog and we are working through it, no decision on your case yet. We also sent a chaser letter to the caseworker.

Dear Spidery Thread

:) actually she is quite proactive on her own: calling them, then updating us or advising us on the next options. It's just I am not comfortable with pushing the envelope too far because our case is not very straitforward.

I actually started that thread long ago for June 2012 sheford, but no updates from anyone with set o. Surely, there must be some reason why set o are taking so long. Even July set m applicants are now receiving their BRP's. I actually don't think contacting them will make any difference, the only thing that will make a difference may be is if we all write a petition and get it signed by as many people as possible and send a complaint against the UKBA's processing standards. But that's just me, perhaps people have other ideas. cheers.

@Kam123

Thanks for the reply.I totally agree with you.
Has anyone started any petition against the processing standard of UKBA?
If not its benefit for everyone to take step to raise a voice against this mess..Do u know how to progress in this regard?

Cheers..

Oh well!

I have called back and got the same answer....procedure hasnt been completed.

No timescale given, no real answers given.

We really need to be serious about this petition...they're very slow with the SET O applications.

I was given the liverpool settlement team postal address to write to, but number for them or email address.
