Well I guess their agenda now is to make immigration difficult so its not surprising to see them highlight the removals rather than welcome the arrivals.

Just noticed you're a first time poster... Welcome to the Waiting Room

If you're a FLR(M) applicant, do post your timeline when you get a moment.
I already got a ticket which i booked ages ago as Me and my partner planned to do it on premium service but due to law changes and time constraint, we need to do it by post.. We got our holiday ticket which we cannot get a refund and it is really annoying and frustrating as we cannot do anything. Just smile as these waiting time will just give me wrinkles as at the end of the day they are the one who will decide. When? no one knows when..

Hi guys

I've never posted on here, but have been reading everyone's stories and gaining solace that I was not the only one waiting... however my wait is over... it all arrived back today, with a visa valid for 2 years So I applied in March 2012, biometrics taken on 14 April 2012, and passports and visas arrived today 8 December 2012 - 9 months after initial application. Hang in there people.
:) :)

Hi Jeiru,

Do not worry about the fact that your visa will expire at the end of December! My visa expired in the beginning of June (applied in the beginning of May) and I've got my FLR (M) at the end of November, i.e. after almost 6 months from previous visa expiry date! :) Consequently, the new visa validity term starts from November and not from June, of course!

I wish you to get your visa soon! Good luck with it!

Hello,

I think there must be different times! Because in my case, I've received my documents in 2 days (on Wednesday) from the day the UKBA has received additional documents from me (on Monday), and I could get my BRP on Friday, if the delivery company has not failed to find our house :) . So, after contacting the Delivery company, they re-delivered the card on Tuesday of the following week.

Do not worry! I think you will receive you delivery soon! :) Good look!

Thank you so much for your replies. As scared as I am and am obviously doubtful that I will get any useful info by phoning UKBA to find out what's going on, I'm going to give it a try. Please wish me luck. 5 more days and it will oficially be a whole year since my husband applied. I think it is a ridiculous. On the UKBA website it states The service standards

We will:

decide 95% of postal applications within six months;

Guess most us are the 5%. :(

Our life is on hold because the UKBA can't get their affairs in order. I've written to my MP again, here's hoping I get a reply.

I'll keep you guys updated. Thank you once again.

So I rang this morning. After being on hold for 30 minutes - which felt like the longest 30 minutes of my life, my heart pounding in my chest, stomach churning, i finally got through, and because I was so nervous I got my husbands date of birth wrong 3 times. Anyway all I got told was 'Your application is coming up as - 'not yet completed' and we cannot give you a timescale of when it will be'.

Agh

So - our timeline -

Application Submitted 15 Dec 2011
Biometrics Taken - 19 Jan 2012

Rang UKBA for update on App - July 2012 - Still Waiting
Rang again 10 Dec 2012 - Still Waiting

I have come to the conclusion that my husband is here to stay. BECAUSE he's been here 10 years legally in March 2013 (if time on a spouse visa counts?)

He can easily support himself, but we (wife and kids) cannot survive financialy without him. We have ties to the uk - All my family are here, we are British, my husband has been living here legally for 10 years. we have 2 children both british, oldest is at nursery. He owns his own business, we own our own house and pay council tax, no benefits (apart from tax credits and child benefit).

So I'm not worried any more.

I wish it was that easy. :(

Hi CDNgirl,

Congratulations on receiving your biometrics letter and getting your biometrics enrolled, you should get your visa soon! Fingers and toes crossed!

As for me, my timeline is as follows:

Application submitted: 02/10/12
Acknowledgment letter: 21/10/12
Biometrics letter dated:
Biometrics done:

I have yet to receive my biometrics letter, the fact that I applied a week after you would logically mean that I will receive my biometrics letter this week! However I am not so sure, I am hopeful but deep down I know that UKBA is not doing the applications in any date order...

Good luck to everyone else! If you have good news, please share it with us, it keeps the hope that our visas will arrive soon alive!

Thanks,
October2012applicant.

This postal application process is really frustrating. I am slowly approaching 5 months and truly need to visit a relative abroad for medical reasons.

Every day now I tell myself today is the day, and then it isn't. On my days off from work I've found myself curtain twitching more often than not. This is a joke, my wife gave up her job in March to move here from the USA and marry me, she's coming up to 9 months out of work now and she's cracking up, as well as trying to get by on one wage, it's just not cool, UKBA. They are a farce.

It'll be 6 months from the date of application on boxing day, not that that date means much. From what I've noticed on here, unless I'm mistaken, all the recent approvals from July have been from applications submitted at the beginning of the month. We applied at the end of June, now I'm wondering if applying at the end of the month has cost us dearly as the UKBA work through the applications for each month until a set time limit is reached and then prioritise the next month to keep their figures looking good. Who knows?

one step closer....

Post by aprillbCDN » Mon Dec 10, 2012 4:26 pm
I have been following this forum for a few months now and am disappointed to see how many people are suffering with extremely long wait times for FLR (M) visas.

I have dual citizenship (Canadian/British) and my partner is waiting for his FLR (M) visa extension on his first settlement visa. Our timeline:

Sent application 10.09.12
Received letter 19.09.12

We have not heard or received anything since this, including the elusive biometric letter. We have tried to phone the Border Agency and cannot get hold of a real person to talk to. We feel completely helpless and trapped!!! Looks like we are not going to Canada for Christmas... :(
One step closer, we received the biometrics letter today (10.12.12), exactly three months since we mailed off the application!

I have posted my FLR Application in the 4th Of July and did my biometrics on the 6th of september. However, I changed my address twice in between my application. Will this effect my application in anyway.

the only thing I am wooried about is my ticket is not refundable and if they refuse my appplication I still need to go home and need to make another application and need to buy a new ticket.. this cost me a lot and too much stress.. But I am still hoping for a good result.

Hi ShazIslam,

This should not affect your application, however have you told the UKBA of both changes of address? They will need written notification, so if you have not yet done that, make sure you do that as soon as possible to avoid any disruption.

Post by allison » Tue Dec 11, 2012 11:18 am

Hi all

I am new to this forum. My timeline is:

Docs sent: 29/05/12
Biometrics submitted 04/07/12

I have heard nothing since. I have tried calling twice and have been told that my application has not yet been processed and I will still need to wait.
Is there anybody else who submitted theirs around the same time who has had any progress with their application?

Thank you
