Time Scales- Switching from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Hi,

I have recently received an offer from a company, which is on the Tier 2 Register of Sponsors, and would apply for a Tier 2 General Visa.

I would like someone to please clarify my questions below:

1. I am currently on a Tier 2 ICT Visa (Which was granted in Oct 2010), so I hope I am right in assuming that I can switch in the UK, to Tier 2 General.

2. Also, does anyone know of the timescales it takes to switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General within the UK?

3. What date should I give my current employer notice, since I do not want to be in a position (that, God forbid, I don't get my visa granted for new employer), and end up giving notice for old employer?

4. What date should the CoS contain to be received from my new employer?
