Family visitor visa for my parents

Post by params0073 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 10:55 am

Hi,
I am general tier 1 visa valid up to April 2012.Now i am inviting my parents on the family visa. I have gathered all the documents but excluding one.

I don’t have enough accommodation so I will make my parents stay at another place which basically I would be renting for 6 months. Now my question if i get NOC from that landlord would that be enough ?

Thanks
Param

You are not settled in the UK so they will be applying for a general visit visa rather than a family visa, as you seem to have indicated. You will need to show proof that the accommodation is suitable and available.

Thanks for the reply but are you sure it should be general visi because my friend applied for family and got the visa for his mother-in-law.

Yes, I'm sure.
Additionally the family member you are visiting must :

be a British citizen;
be settled in the UK;

What does "be settled in the UK" mean ?
