FLR (M) unmarried partner waiting times

Post by bbanerjee23 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 4:02 pm

This is my timeline. I am changing from a student visa to an FLR M unmarried partner visa.

APP SENT: 6th July 2012
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: 15 July 2012
BIOMETRICS DONE: 15 Oct 2012
RETURN OF DOCS: still waiting...
residence permit: still waiting.

5 and a half months and counting. My partner and I booked holidays back in July for December, and she is flying without me as all our tickets are non refundable. Bad times!

good luck everyone

Finally got it

Just to let you all know, there is hope eventually.
My wife has received her visa after applying for it in March, it was a long wait with us trying everything to speed it up including getting our MP involved but nothing worked, we just had to wait it out.
Now it's time to start looking for the ILR visa, which at this rate, we will have to start now!

Hi ShazIslam,

This should not affect your application, however have you told the UKBA of both changes of address? They will need written notification, so if you have not yet done that, make sure you do that as soon as possible to avoid any disruption.[/quote]

I Changed the address both the times with the UKBA through their online address change system. Do I still need to write to them ?
Thankyou for your response.

Hi everyone! I've been watching this forum for a while. Though I wouldn't wish it on anyone, it's so comforting to know that there are others that are in the same frustrating situation as you are.

We're in the process of changing my Brazilian wife's visa from a student to an FLR (M).

Out dates are:

FLR M applied on: 23rd September 2012
Acknowledgement letter Dated: 27th October 2012
Biometric letter received on: 10th Dec 2012
Biometric completed on: 11th Dec 2012

Hi,

we got same situation, same day we sent the application. we also booked a trip this end of December and both ticket are non refundable.. We cannot do anything, thinking to rebook it but don't know specifically when as I am afraid that it is not yet release on d day of our flight. The only thing I am worried is my visa will expire this end of December and if they refuse my application I need to go home and buy my own ticket.. How I wish they send free ticket if the applicant needs to go home first before they can re-apply. Hoping for the best mate, I am still hoping but not thinking too much as I dont want to be disappointed. I set my mind that we cannot go and juat forget about the ticket. We even phone ukba and informed them about it but they said it it not yet due of 6 months and they cannot open my file.. what a headache..

Thanks very much! Also I wonder if it would be good to add another column for comments/details on each members' circumstances, so we can see if that bares any influence.

For example, mine would be something like 'brazilian wife, student visa > FLR M'.

Just a thought...

It is indeed a good thought. but had you scrolled to the right you'd have seen the comments field. Also, there is a table to the right which gives you the percentage of outstanding applications.

Also, would anybody be interested in demonstrating? We need a voice!

Thank you, but I should admit this, the original idea was Mr NoG's who created this kind of sheet in ILR forum.

Am I correct in saying that this is a non-settlement visa? Settlement is separate process on a separate form, SET(M) - right? Therefore from what I can see the published service standards for non-settlement visas from within the UK should be;

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ing-times/

i.e. 100% processed within 12 weeks.

I am wrong here? Surely if I am correct the next logical step is the UKBA Complaints Management Guidance document.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

In particular for those who, like myself have disrupted travel plans due to UKBA not meeting the published service standards, clauses 11.5.24 - 26.

Think it might be time for me to get a solicitor involved also. . . . .

Hi Everyone,
Im Kylie... (Australian). I've been watching this post for a while now... silently frustrated with the long process. This morning i have called the Home Office (as it's been 27 weeks since lodging our application)
The lady i spoke to was very lovely... she checked the status of my application and said: Im sorry, it's still in process, tho we have to clear 65% of the applications in 4 weeks, if you don't or aren't lucky enough to fall in that 65% then again im sorry, it's just a waiting game!!! I'm slightly over waiting now tho...it's making me worry and very nervous.

Our timeline:
FLR M applied: June 12th 2012
Payment taken: June 15th 2012
Acknowledgement letter: June 22nd 2012

Biometric letter received: July 30th 2012
Biometric completed: August 3rd 2012
Req OH's passport: August 13th 2012
Visa Approved: Still waiting! 13 Dec 2012 :x
