Refused -switching to tier 2 from dependent visa

Post by sm2009 » Mon Apr 20, 2009 1:50 pm

Hi
My Tier 2 visa application was refused because I am currently working on a dependent visa.I have everything else required including certificate of sponsorship from my employer.Do I stand any chance if I appeal?
Thanks

I don;t understand why it would be rrefused on that basis given that you are eligable to work on a dependant status.

What did the refusal letter say?

It said that I was not eligible to apply for tier 2 because I was not on a list of eligible categories.Dependent visa is not on the list that was quoted in the letter which is also on the website.

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying i should obtain a passport for my daughter and the include a separate application form for her; making it three in total (myself, wife and daughter).

It is not possible to switch (change status from within the UK) from dependent status to Tier 2 (General) as 245HD(b) is unsatisfiable, unless you are the partner of a Tier 4 migrant.
