Applying through immigration lawyers

Hi,

I am here in Tier-1 visa which is valid till 01/04/2013.I want to know how the application is considered when I apply through immigration lawyers. Will it be like a day appointment and I will get the outcome same day or it will be like postal application. I am confused because when one of my friend applied through immigration lawyers it took 2 months for him to get outcome though he is in Tier2 general visa. Pointing me to any links will also be helpful.

It all depends. Some solicitors offer PEO appointments, others do your application through the post.
