UK Tier 1 (General) Extension-Self Employed

Post by octupuse » Wed Dec 26, 2012 1:01 am

Hello All,

I am currently seeking extension for my current UK Tier 1 (General) visa which expires in March 2013, initially granted in 2009.

I registered as self employed with HMRC May 2012, unfortunately i cant file my tax return until October 2013 for the paper version or January 2014 for the online version.

How do i show proof of earnings as a self employed without my HMRC tax returns before my visa expires March 2013?

Many Thanks

I could be wrong, but I do not think submitting a tax return is compulsory in proving your income

Hi,

Just simply show your invoices (generated by yourself/ your Company) as a proof of income. These invoices should math the amount of monies credited in your bank account.

Since Tax is not due on your income till next year you don't need to submit any tax returns, however make sure you have paid all your NI contributions before you submit your application.
