Hi Friends,
You people have always been helpful.....1 more query.Actually I am working for company A whose MD is having another company B at the same address. I am issued the work permit for company A, can i work for company B and get the salary from them as they both have same owner, same address and work in the same field i.e software deveopment or do I need to apply for new work permit

The answer is no, you will need a new work permit if you wish to be paid by Company B. The bottom line is that the company mentioned on your work permit must be the company that deducts the PAYE and NI from your salary and hands it over the Inland Revenue. They must be the company that employs you and pays you. If you are working for and being paid from Company B and you only have a work permit that allows you to work for Company A then you are effectively working illegally.

Although you could probably get away with this arrangement for a few years, when you eventually apply for indefinite leave to remain you might be screwed.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.
