Cohabitation Documents

Post by arajkumar82 » Fri Dec 28, 2012 12:34 am

Hi

I am planning apply for my ILR in March 2012 along with my dependent. and trying to collect all the documents required for ILR .

My wife came to UK in Oct 2009 and went to India on maternity for an year in Jun 2010. and she came back to UK in May 2011.

I have all the documents from May 2011 to till date including both the names (council, tenancy agreements, bank statement but which wont cover the 2 years period) but I don't have any proof of cohabitation documents for the period Oct 2009 to June 2010.

I can get the letters from GP and Electoral to cover the initial period oct2009 to Jun 2010.

I have seen from other posts in this forum saying minimum 3 cohabitation documents required to get the ILR for dependent.

Can anyone please let me know what are other documents i can produce.?

thanks in advance.
Raj

I believe the Cohab doc requirement applicable to your case is only 2 recent years.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Thanks wpilr_nov12 for your reply. Yes my dependent will fall in to old rules for ILR ie min 2 years stay in UK

I have the documents only from May 2011. which will not cover for the 2 years. i can get the letter from GP and Counsil for more than 2 years(2 sources).

Can you please let me know is there any other source of documents which i can submit. we have not opened any bank account on her name before 2 years ago in UK.

thanks

Thanks for your reply and sorry my query was not clear. I don't have the cohabitation documents for the period Oct 2009 to Jun 2010 except the invitation for cervical tests and a letter from GP saying we were both together for the period Oct 2009 to Jun 2010.

Will these documents sufficient for the period Oct 2009 to Jun 2010.?

She was in India for the period Jun 2010 to May 2011.

And i have all the documents(council bills showing both name, Bank statements, GP letters, driving license,NI etc) from Jun 2010 to till date.

Are you sure your wife is eligible for ILR in March 2013 as she will complete 2 continuous yrs in May 2013? Let me know as this "atleast 2 yr in uk" concept is not clear to me.

Send/Take elect roll letter (Oct-2009 to Jun2010)
and also send/take any proof to show her absence.

Usually they will take only 3 documents covering this period.

She was my dependent from Oct 2009 to till date (which is more than 2 years)but she was not in UK continuously for this period. this is acceptable for the dependents.

Seniors, please correct me if i am wrong.

thanks

Thanks ilrdep.

I am planning to submit the below for the cohabitation documents

1.GP Letter (eh invitation for cervical tests/ scans etc)
2.Council Letter
3.NI (NI Card letter dated on Jan 2010)
4.Council tax letters and Bank statements (from July 2011 onwards)
5. Birth Certificate of my daughter for showing the reason for absence for the period (Jun 2010 to May 2011)

Will these enough?

If possible collect the Elect roll register from your council.
and also few letters from same source with your name if not available in joint names ( for example invitation for cervical tests)
