Child Benefit and all

Post by keepsim » Fri Jan 04, 2013 8:38 pm

Hi

I recently got my ILR and wanted to find out about child benefit. Please forgive my ignorance on the topic.

Can someone advice on following
1. Can ILR person claim benefit ? if yes are there any implication or this is facility one should [always] take.
2. Can person earning above £65K claim child benefit ? if yes then is it really meanfull to claim benefit based on new rules [High Income Child Benefit charge]
3. As I read on hmrc site [£20.30] per week , what will be new tax once has to pay for High Income Child Benefit charge.

regards

There are no benefits that you can claim if you earn above £65K. Regarding your question on child benefits, there are changes coming into effect on Monday and it is expected that the tax will be 65% for high earners.
