Hello. Sorry for my late update. I forgot my username and password.

*Acknowledgment from UKBA received 16th July 2012.
*Bimoetric letter received 26th November 2012.
* Still waiting for a decision.
*6 months ends.............. today! Saturday 5th January 2013!

2 adults and 2 children ILR application (after 2+3yr HSMP visa)
8th Oct 2012 - Submitted postal ppwk
17 Oct 2012 - Payment taken
20 Oct 2012 - Confirmation letter received
05th Jan 2013 - Receive 3 of 4 letters for Biometric Enrollment required.

The Biometric appointment letter is dated 21st Dec 2012 (sent second class) and warns if the Biometric isn't done within 15 working days of the DATE OF THE LETTER the application may be invalidated.
I think this is shabby treatment after paying £2479.00. At least send all the family biometrics in 1 letter - and use first class! Surely one first class letter is cheaper than four second class. Now we have a week to get the Biometrics done, the closest Post Office that offers this is a 30 minute drive, and we are still missing one of the 4 letters!

ILR is valid forever. You just need to get your biometric card renewed. Just like we do with our passport/bank cards etc after their expiry.

Yes, like the other post states you do need to renew the card after 10 years, but no detail is set at the moment on this i.e. process, cost etc. (It may change entirely in next 10 years.)

I think application made via advisers taking slightly longer, but still mine must be just round the corner!

After waiting for 6 months and getting an annoying answer from UKBA, I am thinking of other options now rather waiting further.

One of my friend referred me to someone who owns some stake in the company as mentioned in below url - http://www.hsmp-services.co.uk/

I have to authorise this agency to handle my case from now onwards. But before I could do that, can anyone guide whether these people can chase my application and get me a concrete answer why it is getting delayed and how long it will take?

I, too have passed 6 month mark and have called UKBA to ask WTF is happening. Very politely lady said that its incomplete. Only thing they see on the computer screen is whether reply has been posted or not. They don't even know if it is a positive or a negative decision.

I have already written an email to my MP, sort of to celebrate 6 month of waiting. In two days I have had a reply from MP's secretary reassuring me that MP has sent request to Chief Executive of UKBA and once he hears back I will be informed. My understanding is that UKBA should reply to MP within 2 weeks time.

What I hope for is that UKBA representative will get box on the ears and will come up with a more informative reply to my MP, rather than "it's incomlete + please wait"

An update...

I called UKBA this afternoon and I was told that documents were sent by 2nd class today to my home address and I was given a tracking number. Finally some good news after the long wait.

My six months after application elapsed last week on Wednesday and I have been calling them twice daily. I also sort the assistance of my MP last week as well to get in touch with UKBA and the case worker or representative.

Last week on Friday I was given the general Liverpool fax number when I called them to inquire about my application and I sent a fax the very same day...

Hopefully I will have great news in the next few days...
