Waiting for the biometric letter to come. Any suggestions on how long will it take?
Mate I also applied on the same date as yours, i received my Acknowledgment Letter on 27th Nov 2012 and Biometric Letter on 8th Dec 2012. I guess the batch of applications are handled by different individuals, as you can see the post above yours. That individual applied late than us but still received the visa before.

My suggestion is stick on, hopefully things will speed up soon.

Cheers

Sorry, it was 20st December 2012 not November. But any idea on how long does it usually take to get the biometric letter?

:).. i got approved this time. and bit of information for everyone.. working hour is not strict, my company reduced my working week to 35hour and added an extra week unpaid leave in a year to maintain that pro rata hourly pay on a low annual payment and here I'm .. with VISA. Gonna get it Monday

Hi Guys, just to let you know this is the second time I'm applying, last time it got rejected due to inappropriate hourly pay (annual salary). It was in June 2012. It might be a reason for delay this time.

Approval Timeline

Post by abhishek.gite446 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 2:34 pm

Hey Guys,

I just saw some of the recent updates, based on which I guess UKBA are processing the applications who have already finished their previous visa are on top priority. The Visas which are expiring later this month or year will be down in the priority list.

For Eg. The post above this one Finished his visa on 30 Nov 2012 and gave Biometrics on 22 Dec 2012 and received his visa. Where as People like me, having their visa expired later this month and applied in mid of Nov 2012 are still pending status.

So my suggestion to all of the waiting candidates are just to hold on for few more time as we might expect the visa approvals soon.

Cheers

Date of approval

Post by squalliram » Mon Jan 28, 2013 2:51 pm

Hello guys,

I just had a question as to how do you get to know regarding the "date of approval"? Do you get an email regarding it or do you get to know about it via post? Kindly let me know. I've been waiting for mine for over two weeks now since I gave my biometrics.

Thanks.

I gave my biometrics on same day as yours and have not heard anything back from UKBA.

But from their processing time website :

We are currently considering applications where the applicant attended a biometric appointment on or before 12 January 2013.

I really need to start my new job soon so I am concerned about the amount of time it is taking to receive biometrics letter. Lots of people on here have received theirs within a couple of weeks...I am going on three weeks. I was able to confirm that they received everything on the 9th. I was concerned because when I tracked my package the address on the cover letter was wrong so it had to be forwarded.

I have the same situation as you do. Judging from the earlier posts they might not send the acknowledgement letter for online applications at all (which is disappointing).

Tracking has also provided me with the information that the address was wrong and it was forwarded, so it might be normal. The confirmed delivery date is 14th of Jan and I'm still waiting for my biometrics invitation letter.

They might be backlogged atm, so the waiting times are higher. In any case, keep us updated!

From being hired to starting my new job has taken nearly 10 months. AND I am shortage, and thus, RLMT exempt. HOW IS THIS REASONABLE????

Thanks kirik8...although it sucks that the biometrics letter has not arrived I am glad to see that I am not alone...which makes me hope that this means it is normal!! I have left my old job (as three different solicitors said I had to so that the visa and work permit did not overlap) so I really, really need to start my new one in March, early April at the latest!

Good luck to you and I hope both of our biometric letters come soon!!
