I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue:
Me and my wife have applied for long residency around mid June 2012 and we have been waiting since then. My wife is dependent on me, would this make the processing of the case longer?

Thank you guys.
When you say your wife is dependant on you, did you file FLR(M) for her? As Long Residence ILR application does not allow dependants.

Majority of ILR applications are taking longer than 6 Months, even if you call they standard reply would be,"your application is not completed yet, you need to continue to wait until the case worker write to you".

Applicant/s already know this.

Could u please tell me what documents you send in when you applied.
Hi Punjabis,

Same here as well, given biometric on the date which you have given, still waiting and no update from HO and when called they said still its not yet completed.

Share your experiences any.
Thanks,
Bobby

No in your case. However, they cannot make a decision until your ILR is decided. So, she'll have to wait further.

Yes, you are officially entitled to call them now. Cannot say what their response would be (its always a mystery) but at least for sure they wouldn't say.."You will have to wait for six months before you call us..."

Hi,

Applied In June and still waiting to hear from HO, not sure how HO is working on the applications.
I guess it depends upon the case worker as you said.

Thanks,
Bobby
Bobby It's very strange way, some application of September and August got their ILR but not the June's one.
Checking post every day and getting really woried. I felt like getting torture everyday.

I applied for my SET (O) on 27/12/12 and got the acknowledgement letter on 05/01/13 dated 31/12/12. I have a query in my wife’s FLR (M) that;
I have two children who were born in the UK and the first one has a dependent visa on my wife. My wife never been a dependent on me, instead I have been dependent on her (student dependent then PSW dependent). Due to this reason I am coming under new rule 9th July 2012, and have to show income to sponsor my wife. I am not going to apply for my children as they both were born here, but the confusion is still do I need to show the income threshold of £24800? Or is that just £18600 to my wife? Do I need to fill the section 4 on FLR(M) ?
Please help me to clear my confusion.
Damanisshallo wrote: Only 18600. Your children do not fall under immigration control.

Focus on the word in bold. You need to fill section 4 but only include your children if they are included otherwise just answer NO. To 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and proceed to section 5.

Quote:
In this section include any children under the age of 18 who are living with you in the UK and who are applying as your dependants.
Thank you Damanisshallo,
I think I do not need to fill the section 4 at all as the title say “Dependent Children Who Are Applying with You”. As this section is about dependent children who are applying, I can omit this section.
Also I cannot say no to question 4.1 (4.2, 4.3 are ok to say no) as we have two children and the first one already have a dependent visa and the second one is registered with birth registrar office. Also my wife's payslips has maternity payment details, so the home office know we already have two children, and may refuse the application for false information. Please advise me if I am thinking in wrong way.
Could anyone help me out to clear my confusion please?

Hi Punjabis,

In your acknowledgement letter you can see a number and that;s the number I called, I know some times when they get many calls I guess they would just keep the automated messages, only thing is you should randomly keep trying. Monday & fridays are the most busiest days and its very hard to get connected and other days are less busier, even though you call them you wont be getting any information as such. They will only tell you the status whether its completed or not. For rest of all your questions the only answer is " You have to Wait".
Hope this helps.

Punjabis - I know its really frustrating and some times when we discuss this with others they say it depends upon the complexity of the case. But I know couple of people who had a very complex immigration history but still they managed to get in 4 months. I guess its all up to your lucky stars.

Good Luck any ways.

When you call this number what do they ask our case number which was on the acknowledgement letter?

They can ask for any three of the following:
1) Home Office Reference, which starts with alphabet.
2) Case ID
3) ILR Acknowledgement reference.

1 & 2 are issued to every one when a visa is issued or refused, both are mentioned at top right hand corner of the decision letter.

Your application can be tracked by any one of the above or your name, date of birth, application type.

Don't involve your MP, that you have not received Biometric Invitation, call HO again and speak to a supervisor and explain the situation.

Your application time has started from the date of your application.

Leave MP's support beyond 6 months if you do not get a decision by then.

Yes its true.. leave the MP's involvement beyond 6 months... some of us had the same problem and finally they sent us... so try to speak to the UKBA again... if the 1st question they ask you is: is it 6 months.. tell them that its a query regarding BRP...

Hi everyone...

I was wondering if anyone could help me out on a couple of things...

Like many here, I'm also anxiously waiting on a 10 year ILR application. I applied on the 2nd of August, got my by biometrics done end of September and since then, well, torture.... :)

My first question is along the lines of a recent discussion. Currently I'm on a student visa, my wife on a student dependant visa and I just had a baby 8 months ago which currently has no status. My original idea was that as soon as I got my ILR, I would apply for a new visa for my wife - FLR(M) - and register my baby as a British Citizen, she was born here.
However, as the decision is taking a lot longer than expected and I have a trip planned for the beginning of February - considering I will get my IRL in time - I would not have sufficient time to get my baby's citizenship sorted out. At best, I'll be able to book a premium service appointment and get my wife's spouse visa in time for the trip. I know I can include my child as dependant on the FLR(M) application but that would incur more costs and an increase in the financial requirements.
So the question actually is, if when returning to the UK only myself and my wife have valid visas, how likely is that the officer will see a problem in the baby not having a valid visa? Bearing in mind she was born here, that I'll have ILR and my wife a spouse visa.

The second question is about the financial requirements of the FLR(M). I know it says £18.600 + £3.800 for the first child. My wife is on a 20K + commission contract for a few years now, her P60 for 2010 - 2011 shows £22.500 in total and for 2011 - 2012 it shows £22.150. However, due to the child she has been on maternity leave for 9 - 10 months now. My doubt is what will the HO actually take into account with regards to evidence of earnings in the last 6 months. Will they consider the amount on her contract or will they consider only the maternity pay? Does anyone know?

Sorry about the rambling and thanks in advance...

Cheers

@elcanja,

In addition to above, every person whether minor or adult, needs a travel document to travel abroad, regardless of their birth status.

A British person can not come into the UK unless he/she produces a British Passport at the borders.

Also your child cannot travel out side the country without a passport(whether foreign or local).

Its pretty straight forward.
