13:50 : Biometrics done.

14:35 : Became little impatient as the token numbers after mine were called. Checked with the person at the customer service desk and I was informed the Biometrics could take up to 2 hours.

11/01/2013 - Received the BRP. :)

All the best to everyone who is working on their ILR application.

Hi

You mentioned..

First entry:- 04-Feb-2008 (HSMP)
Renewal:- 04-Feb-2010(Tier-1)
ILR due date: 04-Feb-2013

When was your visa expiring..?

My first Visa start - 17/04/2008
First UK Entry - 14/05/2008
UK Visa expiry - 17/04/2013
5 Year completion - 14/05/2013

I assume I could apply only 28 days before 14/05/2013..?If so I have only 2 days to apply before by Visa expiry..! How easy it was to get appointment in person..? In this case should I apply for visa extn..? thanks very much...

Hi Tina,

U can apply 28 days before Your Visa start date - 17/04/2008

This is because u entered within 90 days of your visa getting stamped.
Thanks!

Tina_Eapen, See page 12 for UKBA guidance reference: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

The period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK may be counted toward the qualifying period, as long as it does not exceed 90 days. This can occur if the applicant is delayed travelling to the UK. Provided the period of delay does not exceed 90 days, it will not be counted as an absence.

Yes ..thanks very much.

I got following automated response from Settlement Operational Policy Team as well.

Q. I received my grant of leave but delayed my entry to the UK ; have I broken the 5 year continuous period for ILR?

A. No. Provided the delay was no longer than 90 days, we will count the time between you being granted entry clearance and coming to the UK towards the continuous period for ILR,

Q. If I delayed my entry to the UK by less than 90 days, can I still apply at a PEO 28 days before my leave expires?

A. Yes you can still make your application at a PEO 28 days before your current leave expires
