HSMP Diploma question

Hi,

A friend of friend of mine has done Engineering diploma from India (after 12th class). Diploma was three years duration.

Is he elligble for education points on the basis of Engineering Diploma? Will he get any points for this?

Diploma in engineering in India is generally after class 10th not 12th as you mentioned and hence may not qualify for degree equivalence. I think going to NARIC is a wise option but i very much doubt it.

Hi,

I have done my Bachelors of Engineering (BE) in India. I plan to do a Masters degree for my HSMP extension.

Will PG Diploma in say Management be considered as Masters?

I do not want to do a Masters in Business Management (MBA) as it is costly & takes minimum of 2 years for completion.

Can someone in the forum clarify my doubt?

Engg. Diploma doesnt qualify for a UK eqv. degree.
Even though NARIC authorizes it ( by mistake ) i really doubt if HO will consider it as Degree eqv....

i may be wrong, but if at all HO treats it as UK degree. eqv and awards points for anyone, plz let the forum aware.

I think you have misunderstood my query.

It was based on my Bachelors in Engineering that I was awarded HSMP and not on Engg. Diploma. I am not sure whether Engg. Diploma is considered as Bachelors.

My query was about Masters, specifically Masters in Business Managment (MBA). Some universities offer MBA either as MBA (2 yr) or as Post Graduate Diploma in Management (1 yr).

I was just wondering if doing a Post Graduate Diploma in Managment would be considered as a Masters?

Anyone out there who can help?
