entry clearance and entry in UK

Post by sudhirg » Mon Feb 19, 2007 3:04 pm

Hello,

I have got my HSMP approval dated Dec 29th 2006.

I got my EC on feb 17th 2007.

I want to know my travel date to UK is before 29th June 2007

or before Aug 17th 2007?

I am confused as to when I am supposed 2 travel to UK so as my HSMP visa is activated?

Answers to my query will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Sudhir

You can now enter UK anytime while your EC is valid and there's no time restriction to it.

But bear in mind that:
1. Unless you confident of landing a job as soon as you arrive in UK, it's best you travel as soon as you can and start looking for jobs.
2. Your ILR counter starts only when you enter UK.

Thanks,
I have also applied for HSMP a few days back and was looking for the exact piece of information i.e. if one can delay it travel for a few months after getting EC. What is this ILR?

Thanks to the replies.

I am still not clear.

Is there a 6 month period before which one has to enter UK once(to get the entry stamp in passport)

and if failure to do so will nullify the HSMP visa.

And how is this 6 month period calculated?

FROM

1)HSMP approval date

2)EC date on passport

If any one can shed light on this, it will be great.

Sudhir
