New form - new question - confused

I am applying for ILR in few weeks and have been looking at the new SET O form released on the 13th.

It has two new questions

7.11. How long have you lived in the UK?
7.12. Please state what ties you have with ?


Now with regard to 7.11 -

I was on a Student visa, then on WP (old format) but didnt get FLR for 4 months and now on T1G.

Should I count the time from -

Student visa
WP approval
WP Stamping/ FLR ?

With regard to 7.12

How much or how little information should be given? Can this be used against you - say when you want to get a visa for someone in your home country?

Immigration history -

Student visa - WP approval - FLR - T1G

7.11: Calculate the period from date of your WP approval on which this application is based.
7.12: Ties, could be your family(Parents). Thats more than enough to write.

Write exactly and truthfully, do not try to hide any thing.

Can someone confirm please, as I am using the date from FLR for my ILR period and also counting the holidays from that date.

My friends, who were in a similar situation had also counted the period from WP stamping.

However this is a new question and hence not sure.

Anyone ?

Are you applying on the basis of T1G or 10 year long residency?

I am applying on the basis of T1G.

I was on Wp for 1 year and 4 years on tier 1. Before WP one year on a student visa.

What is applicable here is the date that your WP was stamped/ FLR, as that's when your 5 year residency for ILR began.

So should I say from Feb 2008 (date FLR for WP was approved)

OR

4 years 11 months and X days


Also, this means in reality I would have stayed longer in UK - due to a year being on student visa, but for the application purpose I count only the time from WP approval - excluding time on student and WP (without stamping)

Does this look correct to everyone ?

Sorry I have had two contradictory answers to query regarding 7.11 in this thread.

Means the time in years and months(not asking the days in addition).

Write exactly which is true, HO has all the records how long have you been here? what applications you made?, what visas you were on etc etc.

e.g: You can have Family ties with your home country.
