Question on MSc - Distance Education

Post by singh_m » Fri Feb 23, 2007 7:50 am

Hi All:

I have Msc (IT) from a recognized university in India through Distance Education. I'm not sure if I can claim 35 points for MSc and if it is equivalent to a Master's in UK.
However, as a proof of my English Language ability , I am also sending my Bsc Degree. If my Msc is not considered equivalent, will the HSMP team consider my Bachelor's by default and give me 30 points?
I will still hold enough points to qualify.

Your expert advise will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

i dont see in HSMP guidence notes that a distance learning degree is not acceptable. If I were in yours shoes, I would have get my both degrees certified from NARIC and then the degree with highest points would have used for claiming points.....

comments by someone else?

Hi,

Not sure if distance learning will be accepted simply because HO will not accept it as a full-time course.

Distance learning is not a full-time course, its more like a part time but u can check from a solicitor before applying though.

DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE IS ACCEPTED.
I GOT THE POINTS. I have done my MCA from Madurai Kamaraj University Under Distance mode.
NAIRC will just compare whether the degree is comparable to UK standard or not.

Thanks for the reply guys !!
But my main question is IF Msc is not accepted for some reason will they fall back on my Bachelors and give me 30 points or will they outrightly reject my qualification and give me no points for it.

Rgds
