Dear Tryafrica,

If possible, keep us posted on your job search. Economist out there must be watching your progress with interest. I myself am an economist, hoping to have hsmp in Oct and planning to come over to UK in Dec. I am very much interested in your case and wish well for your job search.

Best regards,

Hi

Its good to know that you are looking forward to joining. Its a great challenge looking for a job out here, have been tipped to try the banks, called sent my cv to two got response from both, was given numbers to call. had interview over the phone passed them both, all very easy. am scheduled for a face to face interview early next month. What sort of questions must I expect, any specialised bank experience, please help.
the other one responded negatively stating ting the reason that they only employ peple with a minimum of a year stay on the permit :( - am already into my one year about 10 to go- i was adviced to call back after the renuwal of my visa. its such a heavy set back. If you would want to work in the bank i suggest you get your HSMP visa post dated and come as a visitor and then phone in am sure this will do you good otherwise you end up in the same predicament :( .

Is it ok to occupy oneself on any job while looking for your specialist job and will they consider it as active economic participation for hsmp renewal :?: .

Dear aromated,

My experience has been with the public sector as well as International NGOs in the field of programme management. In addition to programme/project management I have interest and been dealing with public policy analysis and advocacy related work.

Like many other applicants, am hoping that my hsmp case will get through as, to me, I seem to qualify for this: score more than 65 points. I applied end May. Frankly, I am not that concerned about the hsmp as I am about getting job in UK!!

tryafrica: sorry, could not reply in time. Was away on annual leave to village having no internet facility. I hope you have got some job by now.

regards
